Working in a tight space can create a variety of problems. However, even though this equipment may appear small, it can get the job done efficiently and pack a powerful punch.
LOCKED IN COMFORT
Case Construction Equipment’s Alpha Series skid steer models have a sealed and pressurized cab, 360-degree visibility, climate management system and 19.5-gallon fuel tank. The electro-hydraulic (EH) switchable controls are available on all Alpha Series models. More than 70 attachments are available, including augers, rakes, grapples, pallet forks, brooms, dozer blades and a new line of Case hammers.
The John Deere E-Series line of skid steers (five models) and compact track loaders (four models) have either Interim or Final Tier Four engines and electro-hydraulic (EH) controls. The EH controls are available for ISO, H and foot-control patterns. E-Series upgrades include a flat-floor design with 25 percent more room and lower noise levels compared to previous models. Other new standard features include connect-under-pressure auxiliary hydraulic couplers and a new courtesy lighting feature that automatically shuts the machine lights off after operation.
CREATE FIRM FOUNDATIONS
BOMAG’s BVP Series single-direction plate compactors are designed for a variety of jobs, from soil or asphalt compaction to paver and patio installation. The BVP Series plate compactors have engine protection frame guards and are available in two models. The BVP10/36 weighs 183 pounds, covers a working width of 14.2 inches and produces 2,250 pounds of centrifugal force. The BVP18/45 weighs 201 pounds, has a working width of 17.7 inches and delivers 4,050 pounds of centrifugal force.
CRUSH WET, DRY MATERIAL
The Allu D-Series screener crusher bucket attachment works with wheel loaders, excavators and skid steers to screen, crush, pulverize, aerate, blend, mix, separate, feed and load materials in one stage. The Allu power-adjustment valve promotes powerful startup and rotation to screen and crush wet or dry material from 0.60-inch to 6-inch fragment sizes.
The Bradco Series II mulchers, by Paladin Attachments, attach to excavators, skid steers and forestry tractors to shred hardwood trees, brush and ground vegetation up to 8 inches in diameter. Available in 36-, 60- and 72-inch cutting widths – depending on the machine – the mulchers feature a heavy-duty bent-axis variable displacement piston motor.
ADJUSTABLE TO THE CORE
Featuring a split-tine design, the Exmark 30-inch stand-on aerator has a 7.5-mph top speed and 48 self-cleaning, coring tines. The core depth is adjustable from 2 to 5 inches. The tine down-force is hydraulic-actuated and adjustable by the operator. The 30-inch aerator also has an electric-start Kawasaki V-Twin powerplant.
Part of its VMLogix line of products, Loftness’s Carbide Cutter G3 mulching head attachment for skid steers is available in 51-, 61- and 71-inch cutting widths. All of the models are offered with a variety of carbide-tipped and heat-treated steel teeth. The Carbide Cutter G3 features a two-stage cutting chamber with staggered counter teeth and a shear bar.
Ranging from 6,500- to 8,600-pound operating weights, Takeuchi’s TS Series skid steers have a rated operating capacity from 1,500 to 3,000 pounds. All of the models come equipped with a diesel engine, and radial and vertical lift path options are available. The TS Series skid steer loaders are also available with an optional two-speed transmission, providing travel speeds up to 12 mph.
