SiteOne Landscape Supply has hired John Gertz to serve as vice president of category management for the agronomics category.
Gertz’s main job will be leading the agronomics business and managing supplier partnerships in this area. He has a bachelor of agriculture in agronomy and crop science, a Bachelor of Science in genetics and a master of science in transgenic agronomy, all from the University of Georgia.
Working in the green industry since 1995, Gertz has held sales and marketing jobs at companies such as Dow AgroSciences, SePRO and Sipcam Agro USA, Inc. He moved into the distribution side of things in 2007 as director of micronutrients/turf and ornamental for WinField/Land O’ Lakes.

LandCare has hired Rodrigo Sangy and Ceasar Larrach to lead its West LA and Palm Springs teams in Gardena and Indio, California, respectively.
Combined, the two have 40 years of experience between themselves. Sangy has worked as a crew member, supervisor, irrigation technician and account manager in the Washington D.C. area for 17 years. Prior to LandCare, he was a senior project manager for a green roof construction company.
He studied business and landscape construction management at Rio de Janerio State University and plant science at the University of Maryland. Sangy is also a Certified Irrigation Designer (CID) with the Irrigation Association.
Larrach has several years of experience as an operations manager for a commercial landscaping company and also has extensive knowledge of the property management industry with over 20 years of experience.
He has a Bachelor of Science in business from Cal State LA.
Husqvarna’s commercial sales manager for tree care, Cary Shepherd, has been appointed vice chair of the 2018 Accredited Standards Committee ASC Z133.
The committee maintains the ANSI Z133.1 Standard, Pruning, Trimming, Repairing, Maintaining and Removing Trees and Cutting Brush-Safety Requirements. It guides tree care safety practices and has been the industry standard for nearly 50 years.
Shepherd has been with Husqvarna for 24-years and is a Certified Treecare Safety Professional (CTSP) and is also a Husqvarna Qualified Master Sawyer & Instructor. He has served as the chair of the Chainsaw Subgroup of the ASC Z133 and has been a voting member of the committee since 2009.
