Interior plantscaping is becoming more popular as people find they are longing for some greenery indoors to help them feel more connected with nature.
According to the (NHAPS), on average Americans spend 87 percent of their time indoors.
Yet studies have found that interior plantscaping improves individuals’ cognitive ability while raising productivity by 12 percent and creativity by 6 percent. Respiratory ailments are reduced by 20 percent and sick days declined by 60 percent in work spaces that had live plants.
However, using plants indoors isn’t anything new. In fact, they’ve been used for centuries. As early as 1,000 B.C. Chinese cultures were growing plants indoors for decoration and a sign of wealth. Records show that wealthy Egyptians, Greeks and Romans all kept plants in their homes as well.
While houseplants are no longer just for the wealthy, your customers can reap many different benefits from them depending on which plants they choose. Below is an infographic on some good houseplants and what advantages they offer.
