Landscape Scams Appearing

Watertown, Massachusetts, has fallen victim to an alleged landscaping scam hitting homeowners.

Police responded to a residence after the homeowner reported someone had broken into the home, according to .

The resident explained that an individual knocked on the door and stated they were doing tree trimming for a next door neighbor and wanted to show them the work.

When the resident returned, $250 and some jewelry had been reported missing.

Tips for Landscapers:

–       Always remember to show credentials and confirm employment at door

–       Don’t ask to enter the client’s home

–       Always look for “No Solicitation” signs

–       Know the laws in your area as far as soliciting door-to-door
