Landscapers had their first chance to look at and operate JCB’s latest compact track loaders during GIE+EXPO in Louisville, Kentucky, last week.

The 210T is a radial lift model and the 215T is its vertical lift counterpart. The 210T and 215T are both powered by the 74-horsepower JCB Diesel by Kohler engine, which is Tier 4 Final.

“Not only is it Tier 4 compliant, but it’s no DEF and no DPF so it’s a lot easier for a landscape contractor to maintain, manage and service when you don’t have any of the productivity sapping regeneration that is required for the DPF machines,” said Damien Mills, general manager of brand marketing communications for JCB.

The 210T model has a rated operating capacity (ROC) of 1,900 pounds at 35 percent tipping load and 2,650 pounds at 50 percent tipping load. The 215T model’s ROC is 2,100 at 35 percent tipping load and 3,000 at 50 percent tipping load.

“This machine also has bolt-on counter weights so we have ability to increase the amount of weight it will lift just by bolting on the counter weights and because of its size the machine is actually capable of picking up 3,000 pounds very easily,” said Randy Tinley, JCB product manager for skid steers and compact track loaders.

The compact track loaders have both standard flow and high flow capabilities and with the high flow of 30 gallons per minute, landscapers have a wider range of attachments they can use.

Another noticeable feature is the machine’s smaller platform and lower weight of 8,900 pounds. This makes it easier to fit and tow on a trailer.

“The horsepower-to-weight ratio of these machines makes them ideal for confined work spaces where increased life capacity is required,” Tinley said. “These are the smallest compact track loaders available that can lift a standard pallet of sod or bricks, or a wet round hay bale.”

The 210T and 215T feature a single boom design, providing operators with 60 percent better visibility and the entry to the cab is also simplified and safer by a wide-opening side door.

“We’ve tailored the machine more so people feel comfortable getting in it, operating it and they have no reason not to want to stay in the machine,” Tinley said.

Both the 210T and 215T are available now. For more information, click to find a local JCB dealer.
