Greenery May Not Be What It Seems
Patty Vaughan | August 8, 2013

Creating an outdoor space in an urban environment can be difficult, but for New York landscapers, the job can seem next to impossible.

However, the idea of using artificial plants has become a popular trend for northerners who fight the winter season and those who are living in apartments.

Geranium Street Floral has created boxwood hedges, foliage, artificial ivy, topiaries and bushes that can add a touch of green to the towering buildings.

One designer, Amy Chan, said the stigma behind using artificial plants to make the area greener is fading.

Because the artificial products are changing, balconies are getting greener along with rooftops.

This trend is rapidly spreading that even areas like Hong Kong, Sao Paulo and London are enjoying the artificial green spaces.
